Display Gardens
The Display Gardens are 2.5 acre or 1.2 hectares - equivalent to approx 15 house blocks.
Visitors can tour the beautiful display gardens at their own pace and delight in the wide variety of themes and colours. An elevated boardwalk traverses the garden providing spectacular views over the significant variety of plant material, amazing water features and unusual sculptures. There is equitable access available to most of the garden.
The Display Garden was designed by landscape architect John Shinkfield from PSB and recently won a commendation in the NSW Awards for Design in Landscape Architecture from the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects. Elements of contemporary Australian and European garden design styles are featured in the garden while incorporating remnants of Australian native Sydney sandstone ridge top vegetation. Stands of Eucalyptus haemastoma (scribbly gums) provide a link with the neighbouring Lane Cove National Park.
Features of the Display Garden include: a children’s garden designed to entertain and provide a fun space for children to interact with plants and whimsical sculptures and the Daffodil Garden created with the Cancer Council NSW as a place of thanks, remembrance and hope, featuring a Wall of Recognition with dedicated plaques to some of their key donors and a Wall of Memory.
The Garden is also home to our 7 Beds featuring the Garden Design Showcase which provides inspiration to those aspiring to home and garden living solutions. The 7 beds displays will change to reflect consumer trends for home lifestyle and plant trends.
